1.Thermal Stability & Resistance:
Carbon fiber rear GT wing has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) compared to metals. Its shape remains remarkably stable under temperature fluctuations experienced on track (sun, airflow friction, proximity to exhaust).
2.Superior Fatigue Performance:
Aluminum suffers from cyclic fatigue – microscopic cracks form and grow over time with repeated loading/unloading (like every lap, every bump). iMP performance carbon fiber rear spoilers are incredibly resistant to this type of fatigue. This is critical for a component constantly generating massive fluctuating forces over its lifetime (races, seasons). A properly designed carbon wing's lifespan is typically limited by impact damage or regulations, not material fatigue.
3.Thermal Properties:
Trunk wing carbon fiber has excellent resistance to thermal expansion/contraction and can withstand very high temperatures (especially if using high-temp resins), making it suitable for high-heat environments near engines or exhausts.
4.Vibration Damping:
Carbon fiber composite structures can have inherent vibration damping properties, which might contribute slightly to reducing cabin noise or harshness.
